Premises

Premises incidents occur each day throughout our community. The most common types of premises incidents include the following:

  • Slips and falls
  • Crime scenes
  • Accidents on private property
  • Accidents on public property
  • Construction site accidents
  • Workplace accidents

Slip and falls are easily the most common type of incident resulting from premises liability. There are many causes, which would include: snow and ice, faulty stairs, wet floors, unmarked obstacles, just to name a few. Lawsuits can also arise as a result of injuries by dangerous animals, defective flooring or pavement surfaces, swimming pools, and more. Plaintiffs must be able to file suit against property owners, landlords, business owners, and other entities who control the property where the incident occurred.

Successful premises liability cases typically require the assistance and testimony of an expert. Finding a qualified expert early in the process is commonly a major factor in successfully proving or defending your case.
